Rocking on the Island

so i went to bali again last week :D i never think that i'll be back to this island before i have a job and save my money. i was once thinking that it's quite impossible to come back to the island this soon. but i just did! with my own money, and it makes me happy :)

i was there from thursday till sunday. when i was planning this trip a month before, i thought it'd be enough to have 4 days and 3 nights in bali. i was definitely wrong! i was craving for more!!! :( but anyway, so yeah, that's how long i stayed there.

boarding pass. we're ready to go!

arrived in bali in the evening and we went straight to the hotel. TUNE HOTEL DOUBLE SIX. it's quite good hotel. pretty much cheap. you pay for what you use (aircond, toiletries, wifi, etc). the location is good, the bed's nice, and i pretty much like my room. hehehehe. it's Rp 300.000 per night, including the tax, but not aircond and blablabla. i think it's better to book from the internet than just walk in the hotel and book a room. it's not really convenient to rent a car if you're staying here, because you have to go through a very small street to reach the hotel, and there's not much space to park your car. motorcycle, or just use your feet is the best choice. 5 minutes walking to the beach and around 10-15 to reach the seminyak street. so i think everything's reachable. hehehe..

welcome drink : virgin pina colada at sandpit

the sky's going darker

i was still waiting for another friend of mine to arrive in bali. so the arrivers were going to the beach and enjoy the very first glance and step on real sand. hehehe. it's double six beach, around 5 mins walk from the hotel. i miss this feeling so much! watching the sky and beach at the same time when you're relaxing and just sitting to see everything. oh myyy..it's a really peaceful place! :)

sandpit is located at the beach. it's in front of bacio to be exact. nice place, not too crowded and the price's reasonable. my pina colada is Rp 20.000 without tax. but it doesn't go above Rp 30.000 after tax though. so i still think it's a good price to have such a beautiful place and feeling.

then my friend came, we came back to the hotel and prepared ourselves for dinner at warung made. met made and also the band i always watched when i was in bali. it brings back the old days. and it felt good :) i had tuna something there, but i didn't really like the taste but all my friends said it's good. oh my tounge! :S

seminyak street at night

after dinner, we walked around seminyak street and the beach to find a bar to just dance the night along, but unfortunately there's not too many crowds. so we went to the remarkable kuta to find the crowd. hahaha. went to the junkyard and also mbargo. ohhh i miss my playground hahahahaha..

DAY 2 : went to lunch with the officers at warung sulawesi. nyummy! it's a restaurant where you can choose your own meal. went there just one time in my internship time. it's remarkable for its dessert, es pisang ijo. so there i was. :9 then i went to the office and met the whole building. miss the environment. it's still a good place to work, reminding the people inside it. hehehehe. went to the apotek and met my buddy, retta! it's been a long time since we're just emailing each other. and then there we're, talking in person. hehehehe. been missing you neng! :)

after that i went back to the hotel, take a short nap, woke up, and suddenly wanna go to the beach. comb my hair and wore my slippers and walked to the beach! oh myyyy how i love the simple life in bali! don't have to dress to impress. don't have to always look flawless with the latest trend. don't have to walk perfectly etc. all the annoying things you gotta do in jakarta. throw them away when you're in bali. it's time for t-shirt or any light dress you like, and slippers. hueheheheh. love it! wanna go to la plancha but they're full :( padahal tempatnya lucu banget buat nonton sunset. huuuuuu~

woke up and walked to the beach

then we went to laota to have dinner. the most delicious porridge i've ever had :9 one of my addictions in bali. huehhehehe. it has a very reasonable price even the place isn't really impressive but the food is. hehee..after that we went back to the hotel to give my sist's take away food. then we went to the beach again. hahahaha. it's like our private beach :P been there for a while, drank a bottle of red wine together then went back to the hotel and had some sleep. :)

DAY 3 : woke up at 12 and had lunch at cafe marzano, really near to the hotel. it's a nice place, the price's kinda high but it's reasonable because it has international cuisine, and very friendly staff. i enjoyed a quality time with myself for a while :)

at 2, ika picked me up and we went to dreamland. wohooo..i've never been there and i love the beach so much. yeah, it's hot with the sun resembles a spotlight straight to you. but the sand didn't feel hot. so i took off my slippers and walked around the beach happily! hehehehehe..there's a unique thing here. i never find a beach where i can see green meets blue. on the beach you can see that there's a lot of seaweeds. it's nice to step on it. hahaa..more over it makes the sand steadier so when you're standing on the sand and the wave's coming, you won't feel like the wave drags you to the ocean. feel the sand on my feet and the wave's coming to my leg is one of the most amazing feelings ever! additional thing : i love the smell after you spend few hours on the beach. the sun, the salty smell from the ocean, and the smell of your sunblock. have you ever realized that it smell good? for me, it's definitely a yes!

i love the way the green meets blues!

after 1 hour, we went to gwk because i said that i wanna see kecak dance. heheheh. have never seen it before, oh what did i do when i have 4 months there? dunno. hehehehe. at the entrance, i saw few statues of balinese characters. here's one of them, shinta. i always adore the details of balinese artwork. including this one. all the details are amazing. and it makes everything complete.

shinta statue at gwk's entrance. look the amazing details!

then we went around inside. there will be iron maiden's concert here, at lotus pond, it's like their hall. i can see a lot of people building the stage and preparing everything. i wish i was there when there's no this kind of crowd. but anyway, i still like the place. walking in the middle of barricade of big rocks around you is amazing. it gives you good shade too anyway. hahaha. after a quite long journey with the sun, it's nice.

dewa wisnu statue,half body

Garuda Wisnu Kencana isn't a finished project actually. there're still a lot of parts that haven't been done. when it's done, it'd be the biggest and tallest statue in the world, beating the liberty. i hope it can be finished before i die. hhehehe. i really wanna see it. a really big statue with tons of amazing details. what can beat it up? :)

i got a free tattoo there! hahaha. after a very long time not having one. here we go again :D i chose a rose to be put on my right hand. i like the layers and the artist drew on my hand without any stencil or whatsoever. but i guess he put too many inks on my hand, and it melts! when it's dry again, few details are broken :( but it's still look like a rose anyway so..i still like it. heheee..

free temporary tattoo. yayyy after quite a long time. hehe..

ika's and my tattoo. i love its shape before it melts :(

then here comes my most desired thing to see, kecak dance. i thought it's the traditional one when all the dancers come in a circle, but it's more into a performance. but it's still great. i always enjoy live performances, including this one :) it's called 'Kecak Garuda Wisnu Collaboration'. there's different performance everyday. i wanna see them all :P

after that we went to naughty nuri's at batubelig. it's the new outlet from nuri's at ubud. it's look more into a restaurant than the one in ubud. it's full of people and i think the staffs haven't adapt so well and known the way to run the place well organized. but the ribs are still good! as usual! heheheh..Rp 78.000 for a full plate of ribs. still nyummy! :D didn't try the martini, it'll cost you around Rp 100.000 but it's said to be the best martini on the island. uhhh..regret why i didn't try it. but i tried cuhai at kaizan! hahaha..it's really great. Rp 40.000 and it'll make you fly nicely ;)

DAY 4 : it's my last day on the island :( langsung berasa gak mau pulang. oh maiii..who can leave the island happily? :( checked out the room then went to the beach. had breakfast at zanzibar with retta and kevin. hehehe. had a really big fat laughs with them. thanks guys! :) last sight of the beach and its smell :(

double six in the morning

it's the last view of the beach :(

went to the airport just to find that our flight wasn't at 2 but at 4. darn! i should've had more time enjoying the beach :( really wanna go away from the airport if it didn't cost me around Rp 50.000 :( but then we're waiting for our flight at excelso. then, it's the real time to say goodbye to the beautiful island. i'll come back. one day :)
