walking down melacca day 1

welcome to melacca! we arrived here in the morning since we took a night bus, more or less it's 5 hours from ipoh. we're heading to bangunan merah area to find a place to stay. we haven't booked any room here, which is not a good choice actually. all hostels or guest houses at the old town (jonker street / china town) were already full since it's holiday time. so we have to find a place somewhere else.

bangunan merah is one of unesco's protection site

lotus (maybe, i'm not sure) that we found on the street. reminds me with the very same thing we have at my grandma's home

as the sun began to shine so hot, we walked around to find a place to stay. we're divided into 2 group, the girls and the boys. haha. well, then the boys found a place name discovery guest house. they walked so fast =___= i like the place as soon as i arrived at the lobby. khasnya guest house. hhehee. a lot of unique details at the lobby. the employees are really helpful and communicative too. this is something i like about guest house. they're more helpful, communicative, and just friendly with the guest. so we booked 1 dorm room. there're 8 beds and we have to pay for them all if we want the room to be ours. so it cost us RM23 per person for one night. it's including air cond, but we have to use common bathroom. which is quite okay since for me the bathroom is clean. hehe.

discovery guest house receptionist desk

look what's hidin behind the monitor :P

look at the little things they have! amazing..

our room at discovery guest house. not so much space left after the luggage came

then we're heading to jonker walk to have lunch. we're going to try chicken rice ball. it's actually a normal hainamese rice that's shaped into ball. quite good. jonker walk was our playground for 2 days in melacca :P street full with stores and great building! hehee..

welcome to jonker street!

this is where we had dinner. quite a long que and a lot of customers inside

lunch!

cute illustration of fruit tea's booth. fruit tea is melacca's product. reminds me of fruit tea by sosro. hehehe.

snacks

interesting building!

baba nyonya cuisine restaurant in the middle of jonker main street. something with 88 on the sign. it has good food and a lot of customers. kinda hard to find a table. more over it's raining outside so everyone's stuck here

after the rain, we're continue walking down the jonker street. ahh there're too many interesting buildings. always love small shops or places with good details

a lot of antique shops there, but the price is kinda expensive though

after walking for few hours on jonker street, we're going back to hotel and took some rest. then we're going to portuguese settlement by local bus (bus number 17). this is maybe the only place where people decorate their homes during christmas time. they put quite an effort! i love this place so much and wanna walk around but time wasn't allowing me to do so :( we had dinner there, eating seafood. quite good. but the crab wasn't really delicious. hehehe. we missed the last bus, and it's said the bus wasn't coming because of the crowd and jam. yes, there're many people there. after some time, we found a taxi that wanted to carry all of us at once back to the jonker walk.

homes at portuguese settlement. love their decoration! hope i had more time there :(

jonker walk at night. great crowd because there's a night market here

the river at night. lovely!

bangunan merah at night. it's christmas eve by the way! :)

one of my friends was going to church so we're waiting for her in front of the church. well, i should be at church too, but i didn't :( i thought she's just asking the time of next service. fyuhhh~ a bit regret. then she came out and we're going back to our room and slept. the next day was still going by!
