Going to Koh Lipe

so, me and my friend had just talking about spend few days in thailand for the next year around february. we either wanna go to koh li pe (pattaya beach) or krabi. not a final answer, we're still counting the budget.

Ko Lipe (Thai: เกาะหลีเป๊ะ) is an island in Satun Province, near the Tarutao National Marine Park, on the Andaman (west) coast of the south of Thailand. Ko Lipe is outside of the jurisdiction of Tarutao National Park, and as such is exempt from certain laws prohibiting development.

The island is home to about 500 Chao Ley, or Sea Gypsies, who were given a grant to half of the island and live in small villages, predominantly around the far east side of the island near Sunrise Beach. The name "Ko Lipe" means "Paper Island" in the local Chao Ley language.

Ko Lipe Trave Guide from Wiki Travel

We can go to Langkawi then take a ferry to koh li pe. the flight duration is 1 hour, so does the ferry. it's actually well known by its pattaya beach.

- flight ticket KL - Langkawi - Kl is around RM300 (air asia)
- ticket ferry from langkawi to koh li pe is RM128/RM124 one way. while return ticket is RM248/RM238. There are 2 ferry options from langkawi to koh li pe. First is telaga harbour and 2nd is tigerline travel.
- accomodation for 1 night is around RM20 - RM30 per person. 1 room is usually for 2 persons. if you're going there alone, 1 person is RM50, more or less. If we're staying for 3 nights, it'll be RM100. You can check the accommodation from kohlipethailand.com it provides us with few options, or this place is quite good too : Joe Palace.

So, just for accommodation and transportation, we'll spend around RM638. What a big amount +__+ food expenses, entertainment fees, and everything we'll spend there, add another RM400. so the total is, we need RM1000 more or less. RM800 is maybe the cheapest. We have to bring baht from here since there's no atm at koh li pe.

It's not really expensive for a holiday. but arghh what a price for a student. actually there are many ways to reach langkawi. by bus for instance, but it'll take you so long to reach langkawi from kuala lumpur. my friend said the flight price is worth actually. huff, maybe i have to work first for about 1 year, save my money, and then have a trip to kohlipe ;) sounds good :P
