tripping to ipoh day 1

good morning cyberia! :)

i've just getting back from 4 days trip to ipoh and melacca. here's the report. hehe. i separate it to 2 postings because i don't want it to be too long to read. so here's the first, ipoh trip.

there're 9 of us going to ipoh. we took taxi from our place to bukit jalil bus terminal. since there are 9 of us, we took 3 taxis (RM9 each). our bus is on 8.30 in the morning, so we had to be there at least 30 minutes before to change the online booking ticket to the real ones (RM18.40 each). then we're enjoying our more or less 2.5 hours ride to ipoh. extra time to sleep since none of us got enough sleep the night before. hehe.

arriving there, we bought our ticket to melacca (RM33 each). then we're heading to our hotel, hotel lotte. not really far from the bus terminal but we have to take a ride there. we booked one family room for 9 people. should be for 4 people only but we're students with budget and fun to be enjoyed :P

then we're heading ipoh to find a place to have lunch. oh yeah, one of my friends got a friend there name Novia, so she became our guide for the first day.

welcome to ipoh :)

the sun was shining so dam bright. we're walking down near our hotel area and found a shop that sells soya bean and tau fu fa. we took a rest and enjoyed our first snacks :P look at those happy face to find a place that has shade :D

cute car i found on the street

than we had lunch. they tried the beansprout chicken or something, but the restaurant isn't a halal one, so i accompanied one of my friends since she is a muslim to look for a halal place to eat. there's a malay restaurant near there so we ate there. i had a grilled chicken with rice and it tasted good. nyum!

after that, we're heading to kwan im tong. it's a temple. we took taxi there. it's a quite big temple. quite cold inside the temple comparing on the outside. hehe. we're quite happy to sit for a while and feel the wind. then we're walking around the temple. there're many traditional and cultural things there. it's good to have novie there, if she wasn't there we wouldn't know what's the meaning of every things there.

there's one place like a cave, inside there's a somekind of small pool with 15 stepping stones. you have to walk through the stones with your eyes closed and not using your hand to search for the way, and always stepping with your right foot first. when you reached the end, make a wish, and throw a coin. it's said when you can pass it, you'll be able to overcome your troubles in this life.

welcome to kwan im tong

a lot of wishes were hanging

found a really good looking mirror and toilet at the temple. beside the mirror, there's words said 'beautiful girls love to see the mirror' haha.

me and teru teru bozu!

another traditional believed. looks like a bee hunt.

the thing that's look like a bee hunt is another traditional believe. it's said if you rub your hand on the thing then rub your pocket, you'll get money or wealthy. the easiest 'quest' at the temple :P we're spending few hours at the temple, seeing and trying all things there. fun! i never know there're so many ancient believes that are interesting. somehow maybe it doesn't make sense, just enjoy the laugh and fun.

ipoh white coffee

going back to hotel to have some rest. then me and few of my friends went down. besides our hotel, there's a place to eat and i had the famous ipoh white coffee for the evening. it actually doesn't taste really good, but the caffeine is enough to make me awake. hehehe..

we then were going to have dinner. we ate at medan selera, it's another name of food court. most of them serve chinese food. then we went for a walk and after few hours, we decided to have supper. it's quite hard to find a restaurant that open until late. after 5 or 6, ipoh doesn't have many life, well yeah instead of the pubs and karaoke places, but we weren't interested to try them. we finally found a place name wah nam cafe. the food is great, the price's also. nyum! i had pita pizza. it tasted so good!

this is how we did it! :P

then we're going back to the hotel and prepared to sleep. this is how we did it. haha. packed 9 people inside 1 family room. of course the girls have the bed ;P it only cost us RM14 for each people to stay in this room.
